Volunteer Programs

Volunteers provide countless hours of support for the work of the VNAH and for our clients. There are many ways of volunteering. Please review the volunteer program list us to see if your interests, skills and availability match any of our many needs.

Hospice Volunteer
Assigned to one patient at a time, Hospice volunteers provide emotional support and practical help to patients and their family members and friends. Activities may include:

* 15 hours of training and background check required.

Trainings are on-going and provided throughout the year.

Pet Peace of Mind Volunteer
Pet Peace of Mind (PPOM) is a ground breaking national program that enables hospice patients to keep their pets at home with them throughout their end of lifer journey. Services can include:

*15 hours of training and background check required.

Start-up funding for the Pet Peace of Mind program was provided by the Banfield Charitable Trust. Check out their PPOM video on YouTube.

Telemedicine Volunteer
Set up telemedicine monitors in patient’s homes.
* 4 hours training and background check required.

Town Funding Volunteer
Gather petition signatures for town funding and/or represent VNAH at your town meeting.

Knit, Crochet or Quilt
Knit, crochet or quilt for Hospice patients and pediatric patient.

Flu and Wellness Clinic Volunteer
Greet clinic patients or assist the nurse and patients with paperwork.

Administrative Volunteer
General clerical help and data entry in our regional offices.

Event Volunteers
Help us organize and staff VNA & Hospice events.

Bereavement Group Leaders
Lead a grief support group.

Other special interests and talents
Tell us about other skills you have that may benefit our patients.
